The Dixon Municipal Band's World Premier performance of "Reagan of Illinois"
will be aired on Chicago Public TV. On Sunday, February 5th at 2pm, The
concert will be played on WTTW, Chicago's public television station, channel
11. This work, premiered by the Dixon Municipal Band has received critical
acclaim and was selected for a Grammy entry in four different categories. Click

Now on to important information regarding budgetary cuts
to the Dixon Municipal Band....

The Dixon Municipal Band has experienced a budget cut. During these hard
times the City of Dixon had to make some tough decisions and cutting the
Dixon Municipal Band budget was one of the decisions that was made.
As a result of this decision, the Dixon Municipal Band will not be performing its
traditional number of concerts. The concert schedule will be posted once the
final schedule has been determined.

Most concerts will be on Thursday evenings in Page Park at 7:30pm.

The Dixon Municipal Band will still perform on the Lee County Courthouse lawn
to present you with a spectacular Patriotic Concert as part of the Annual
Petunia Festival Activities, This concert will still be held on Friday at 7pm
during Petunia Festival Week.

We proudly march every year in Dixon's Memorial Day Parade,
to honor our nation's veterans. After the 10am parade, we join in an outdoor
service at Oakwood Cemetery along with hundreds of community members,
notable speakers, dignitaries, and representatives
from all branches of the military.

The Dixon Municipal Band heads up the Annual Petunia Festival Parade by
playing Patriotic marching songs all along the parade route. Thousands of
visitors come to Dixon each year to watch the parade, enjoy the carnival and to
partake of the three stages of entertainment and the large variety of food and
drinks along the Rock River in Page Park. The Festival runs each year around
the 1st week of July over the fourth of July Holiday.
